Open Mike Eagle vs. Paul F Tompkins

Open Mike Eagle will be playing a set at the Paul F Tompkins show on 11/19/11!! If you know anything about either of these guys, you know how incredibly rad this is! I’ve been to a few of the shows that Paul F Tompkins does at Largo and have never seen hip hop in the mix… so, to have Open Mike Eagle is great because these 2 things (music and comedy) will be brought together at a dope venue.
Seems comedy and music have a fairly stressed relationship over all (besides a couple obvious exceptions) and I am really hoping something like this will be an introduction/starter for a new template.

Insight – Bother Me

Insight is a lyrical beast. Hands down one of my favorite tracks of his. If this is your first time hearing Insight and you like this, go check the rest of his catalog…. This is one of the laid back ones.

F.O.A.K.

F.O.A.K. (First Of A Kind) are, as they’ve put it “Just two normal blokes from Manchester who happen to rap. I want to spend my Saturdays having a few pints, watching the footy and having a laugh but when it comes to writing this style of music there’s not many people that are as entertaining and technically sound with their wordplay and rhyme schemes as us.”
Basically, just check the videos. First one is them in the studio working on album with an absurdly sick live spit.  Second is called Hour Glass (Them Boys From Manchester). These guys just look to be having a genuinely good time. I like to see that in music.
They’ve got an upcoming single on the way along with a new website launch in the works and I’m sure plenty of good music.
